About the project
Southwestern Community College (SWCC) plays a key role in education and workforce development in the largely rural area of southwestern Iowa. With over 1,600 students across three campuses they provide training for many popular programs including nursing, music and automotive repair to name a few. In all, SWCC has 19 separate one-year and two-year degree programs.
Two of those areas of studies include the Agriculture and Science programs. The Chemistry, Physics and Biology Science Labs are located in the Instructional Building. This unique, large building was built in the 1970’s with a circular form and an open courtyard in the middle. It’s a beloved building at SWCC but its science labs were due for an upgrade which included new millwork, HVAC, lighting, electrical, fire sprinklers and fresh paint.
